Who We Are
The Resource Center is a ministry of Fairfax Church and at the heart of our mission to love our neighbors. In the fall of 2020, the church supported several non-profit organizations during the pandemic by providing resources. The more we learned, the more we knew this was not just a pandemic related need. In an economy where social service professionals lack human capacity, resources, and time to serve the number of families facing food and income insecurity, the church decided to expand on what it started during the pandemic. The Resource Center was prayerfully established by Fairfax Church in an official capacity in the Spring of 2021 as a resource to frontline workers working directly with vulnerable families.
Our mission is that no child is without basic necessities. Our strategy is to support these frontline workers - our teachers, social care workers, police officers, parole officers, and non-profit social services professionals who work directly with vulnerable families by providing short-term resources until those families can be connected to sustainable assistance.
It’s Simple. We Resource…
What We Do
Each week we distribute groceries, household essentials, kitchen essentials, hygiene bags, diapers, formula and baby food.
We fulfill many special requests such as car seats, strollers, baby baths and more for families struggling to purchase these expensive items.
We open our space at the church to host events and projects that serve our community.
We host care groups that meet each month to support and care for our social service professionals working tirelessly to serve families in need.
